Review of The Journal - Desktop Journaling Software
The Journal is a great tool for planning and for keeping track of
information. Within one database you can set up multiple calendar-based notebooks and freeform notebooks.
Information can be linked to external files or contained within the database. Embedded objects can be stored in the
document and you can set up reusable templates for standard pages within each notebook. And you can have multiple
databases -- there's no limit to how you can set the system up.
NO ADSENSE ACCOUNT SELECTED FOR GOOGLE ADSENSE You can blog in The Journal offline, and then upload the blog
entries to your online blog. You can keep track of appointments and events and pop-up reminders to make sure you
don't miss anything.
I use The Journal every day. I have one calendar-based notebook that I use for
tracking daily project activity. I have another calendar-based Notebook that I use for planning and forecasting
activity. I have several freeform notebooks in which I keep reference information, and still others that I use
actively for blogging and writing.
In one notebook, I have embedded Excel spread sheets both for active use and for
reference. Another notebook is set up as an index to frequently used web sites along with user id and password
information, and the whole database is password protected and encrypted for
security.
I recommend this wholeheartedly as a project management jurnaling and record
keeping tool.
